THE JAPANESE CONNECTION

The latest buzz in the Indian translation market is about a humongous Japanese comic book project, being grabbed by the recently-formed, biggest commercial printing JV company in India. Apparently, many International & Indian translation companies competed for this coveted project, involving Japanese to English transalation, running into lakhs of pages. The project has been negotiated and finally landed in the kitty of a Delhi-based organization, which pitched for it in collaboration with a Bangalore-based company. The cost of the project is estimated to be around 2.5 crores, spanning over a period of 6 months.

The Indian Translation market is called a sunshine market; it seems this summer the sun is really shining on the Indian market. Clearly, the Indian translation industry is gaining momentum not only for Indian languages but its becoming a preferred option to outsource the international projects as well. Way to go…
